The series ranks like this for me (on PC) Mafia (2002), Mafia II (2010), Mafia: Definitive Edition (2020), Mafia III (2016-2020). the original 2002 game is still hands down the single best video game experience I ever had and I originally played it when it was new in 2002 and here and there over the years since. it never fails to deliver a great experience.

Nevertheless, graphics is the same and there is zero difference between original and definitive edition. They didn't improve graphics at all, but to be fair, 2K and Hangar 13 didn't say they will. They just added all DLCs for free and some customization options. < >
The trilogy still isn’t bad at all at 30fps considering all the upgrades to visuals they did, especially in Mafia 1. Played thru 1&2 DE recently now playing 3 DE, on XBSS, it's very smooth locked 30fps because of the console capabilities. It also loads very quickly and has quick resume which is great.
