For anyone looking to get a .17 HMR that is something a little special, the CZ 457 Royal is certainly one to think about. Expect to pay around the £650 mark for one – not cheap for a rimfire but certainly excellent value for money. Clearly a rifle that will last for a very long time, looks good, works well and is accurate.
The CZ 457 Jaguar XII is a modern model in this popular rimfire rifle series from CZ. It features the longest barrel on offer (726 mm), as well as a tangent rear sight adjustable between 25 and 200 m, stock with a jaguar motif, and claw marks in place of traditional checkering. CZ 457 - 17 HMR Terrible Accuracy. I have a CZ 457 in 17 HMR and to say it shoots poorly would be an understatement. I purchased the rifle brand new and the test target shows promise. I had high expectations for this rifle but 50 yard groups are definitely over 2" and 100 yard groups are in the 5-6" range. It has a known good scope and quality
